Our History

In April of 1992,a group of dedicated educators, some local science and math leaders, had their first face-to-face meeting to brainstorm the logistics necessary to hold a special conference, the first of its kind, for the teachers of Contra Costa County. These people, who came together at the County Office for the preliminary meetings, started what is now known as C3ASME.

The first conference took place at Acalanes Adult School. Much work went into that first conference, and there were fewer members than there were overhead projectors for presentations! Now, over 1,000 members attend the conference. Each attendee is welcomed into the Association and encouraged to add their volunteer support. Every year for one Saturday these dedicated educators present and attend workshops because they care about the education of children.
